Lina is a perfect choice for live entertainment specializing in Jewish, French, Italian, Hebrew, English and Russian music.

Lina has traveled around the world giving her a unique blend of classic and current music. Lina has performed in dozens of restaurants, clubs and concert halls. She performs regularly for Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, Wedding Receptions, Cocktail parties, Synagogues and many other specialty events. Lina’s philosophy and goal is to play many styles of music with excellence and to deliver a riveting and energetic performance.

About Marika

Marika is a successful up-and-coming performer. As a Wedding Singer, Marika has mastered the skill of judging the mood of her audience and performing accordingly. Marika's down to earth manner and love of performing mean she always gives her all - making her a true professional.

About Gregory

Jazz pianist and composer Gregory Slavin, began playing music at the age of 5, encouraged by his father, a violinist. Discovered to be talented, Slavin was enrolled in the Gnesin Music School for Gifted Children in 1965 and graduated with honorable distinction. He attended the University of Gnesin on Moscow and studied the principles of classical and jazz harmony, instrumental arranging and music theory. He also played in numerous concerts and jazz festivals.

After graduating, Slavin joined various jazz groups which toured the Soviet Union, including Fantazia, Arsenal and Pouchie Serdza, all the while composing his own music. From 1984-1989, he taught "The Origins and Development Of Jazz Improvisation" and Jazz Ensemble Playing" at his alma mater, The University of Gnesin. During this time he became a house musician at a renowned restaurant in the Kremlin area where he garnered favorable reviews. He published many compositions in those days, including "Short Story", "Melodies Of Soviet Jazz" and "Remembrance".

In 1990, Slavin followed a friend to Dallas, Texas. His first stop upon arriving was a local jazz club where he sat in. While at the club he met James Gilyard who later featured Slavin on his 1995 CD release "Speak To My Heart". Most importantly, Gilyard recognized Slavin's talent and produced Slavin's debut CD release, "Inspiration". In 2001, Slavin released his second CD, "Following The Dream", a collection of 8 originals.

"Inspiration" is an eclectic recording that features Slavin's compositions from traditional bop trio pieces to synthesized pieces. Slavin is joined on the recording by bassist James Gilyard, drummer Andrew Griffith and Gale Hess, violinist for the popular Dallas group Cafe Noir. Slavin's piano can also be heard on Josh Alan's CD "The Worst", which is a tribute to movie maker Ed Wood. Slavin has been featured in articles in The Dallas Morning News and The Dallas Observer.

Inspiration The 1997 CD, "Inspiration" was the first for Russian born pianist Gregory Slavin. Four of the nine songs on the project were composed by Slavin, with James Gilyard adding two more. The artists on this project are Slavin, Gilyard and drummer Andrew Griffith. In addition, violinist Gale Hess is featured on the song "Inspiration #1", playing both violin and viola.

Following The Dream Released in September, 2001, "Following The Dream" is the second CD project for Gregory Slavin and is a collection of 8 outstanding originals. Slavin's supporting cast is James Gilyard, Buddy Mohmed, Ira Bassett, Andrew Griffith and Karl Lampman. Good stuff!

Weddings Reception Outline

• Cocktail Hour - I'll play a soothing mix of cocktail music of your choice. Modern, Jazzy, Classical, Whatever you wish! Is your cocktail hour outside, or in a different room? No worries, I've got a second sound system for that.
  
• Bridal Party Introductions - Formally and professionally introducing you and your bridal party into the wedding reception - It's each of your 30 seconds of fame. You and I will pick the perfect bridal party introduction song to fit perfectly with the mood and setting.
  
• Toasts and Announcements - Time to settle the guests and center their attention! The wireless microphone is always available for anyone to speak!
  
• Dinner Hour - Again, I'll play a customized and personalized mix of reception music of your choice. Want to add extra lighting and effects to make your dinner hour extra special and romantic - see the up lighting systems available.
  
• Transition Time - This is the time when you hear the guests get a little less quiet. I start to play "Transition Music" . . . that stuff that will start to make people tap their feet and dance in their chairs.
• First Dances - Bride and Groom Dance - This is your special moment on the dance floor followed by Father Daughter Dance, Mother Son Dance and sometimes a Bridal Party Dance. Sometimes we will plan to do your Bride and Groom First Dance before the dinner, just after bridal party introductions.
  
• Open Dancing - Enough Said! Okay, maybe not. Usually starting with general music for all ages, slowly working towards the "younger" stuff at the end of the night. Don't forget about the Slow sets too. Your music will be customized to fit you and your guests!
  
• Cake Cutting, Bouquet Toss, Garter Tosses - Traditional wedding activities we strategically fit into the evening's time line. A good time for your guests to catch their breath, a bouquet or a drink at the bar!
  
• Other Activities - I will assist and/or coordinate other activities such as the Money Dance, Honeymoon Dance, Anniversary Dance, Gift Giveaways, Centerpiece Giveaways, Games, Etc. For each, we will customize the right music that is appropriate for each activity.
  Don't worry, the above is simply a general outline of some of the many traditional activities. During our Detailed Planning Meeting (s), we will cater and custom your entire night to be 100% to your liking!

There are many details that go into planning a party. We offer professional, reliable, quality entertainment. We want you to be 100% satisfied. But even more than that, we want you to be delighted, so we give the following service guarantee to every customer:

• The volume will be set to appropriate levels at all times. During cocktails and lunch/dinner, we play music softly enough so that guests can carry on conversations without having to shout. When it's time to dance, the music is made louder, but not painfully so. Usually we are right on the money with our volume settings, but if you should ever find it to be either too loud or too soft, tell us and we'll adjust the volume level to your preference.
• We will arrive on time. Whenever possible, our equipment will be set up, tested, and sound checked before your guests arrive.
• All staff (DJs, MCs, Dancers, etc.) will be dressed appropriately. We dress to please. Your event may require formal tuxedos, or, you may prefer us to be dressed semi-formal, or casual. If you are having a themed party, a costume may be the proper attire. Whatever the event, we will dress appropriately.
• We will coordinate with you and your other event professionals (i.e., banquet manager, photographer, videographer) to ensure that your event flows smoothly and all of your special memories are recorded on film.
• We will use only professional and well-maintained equipment. Your party will NEVER have to end early due to equipment failure. Our high quality sound systems include professional brands, such as JBL, Crown, Crest, DBX, B-52, Sennheiser, and Shure. Our main speakers are elevated on stands to project the sound above the crowd, not into them. Proper speaker placement allows coverage of a large area without having to crank the volume to excessive levels. Our equipment is rack-mounted, concealed behind a black booth facade, and appears attractive. Through our sound processors, you can be assured that our sound system will be adjusted to the acoustics of your room.
• Your event will receive our full attention. You deserve nothing less.
• We are always available to discuss details of your event by telephone, fax, or email. We will give you our cell phone number so that you can quickly reach us in an emergency. The week of the event we will check back with you to make those last-minute confirmations.
• All conditions on your contract will be fulfilled.
